You make my life sound more exciting than it actually is!
My gardens isn't big so its easy to see from the window what is going on around the full garden,
Its just case of seeing them building and then seeing if I can get a camera over it 1 without disturbing the birds / 2 for it be secure enough not to fall and scare the birds.
If its not safe or would disturb the birds I wouldn't dream of doing it, I currently have a goldfinch nest, doves nest and woodpigeon these 3 nests aren't able to get cameras over without disturbing the birds so I have left them well alone.
Blackbird one was just in the perfect place to camera it up without any troubles.
