Thanks Paul, still not very good at this . Apparently my son has a pair of blackbirds coming right up to his door and a pair of robins. He feeds them twice a day on his patio and the female blackbird has been calling at his door for the last couple of weeks and when he opens it she flies back to the edge of the patio and waits for him to put food out. The robin has been watching but not been as brave. It has been feeding from just in front of him for a couple of days. I suggested live mealworms to tempt them closer and this morning with him and I it was the first hand feeds - so glad I was there and able to join the excitement. We later tried suet pellets (which is their normal feed) but after a taste of the real thing the robin flew on my sons hand , literally looked up at him and then backed off and stood looking at him as much as to say ‘where has the real food gone?’ .
