Thank you all so much for your care. I have been watching since before it was light enough to see anything, and as I type this my camera is recording in case I miss anything. There has been no sign of female and as of yet no visits by male. So upset and can’t get the noise I heard before she went missing out of my head!! 
. How I would love to be wrong about this one but I now don’t think so.
i hope the rest of your birds all stay safe. They are so vulnerable out there with perils at every turn,
