I think you maybe overthinking things, Taken material out happens for many of people over the years.
Malcolm and Elizabeth had nearly full nests being built and removed and redone in the past.
If the weathers been anything like It as in Liverpool the birds won't be in rush to get it build yet!
On the plus side it does look like temps rising again from tomorrow and drier.
I think you'll get a nest everything that is happening is only a good sign.
