Thanks Diane and Sue,- Kathy It's certainly not a normal sized clutch as far as I'm concerned, I haven't had anything less than 6 as a first nesting and generally it's 7 plus. I checked back on my recording today - not all because I had it timed on for short periods when she was laying and leaving the nest early morning and only returning to drop a bit of soft stuff in for the cup. Anyway I set it for continuous recording from around 1130 hrs until bedtime at 1900 hrs and during that time she was on the nest for a total 2 hours split up into 6 visits and away for 5 hours from 7 departures, the longest being 2hrs 20mins between 1330 and 1550 hrs. These periods away from the nest are not the usual behaviour of a GT taking incubation seriously, so there may be more eggs to come over the next few days. We can only wait and see......
