Reacquainted myself with Sketchup this morning (whilst I was supposed to be working 
). Here's a rough idea of what is possible - it is very useful to help work out the dimensions required for the less obvious bits. This is only a rough idea - the pieces are there but dimensions need working on. It's very long/tall at the moment, because I want to have plenty of room for camera + other bits, and I plan to work out exactly where to put the camera for best view hopefully before building it. This model is based on 22mm stock.
If anyone wants to try Sketchup I strongly recommend it - it is free. Best to start with a tutorial (I like this one) otherwise you can end up tearing your hair out.
