Hi, From a previous thread, I decided that I would try and make a sideview bird box. I think I will manage to do it, I just need to sort out my mitre skills!! It doesn’t seem so easy using a jigsaw. All the woodworking equipment I have was my dads, and he passed away 14 years ago, so it old and somewhat knackered! I do appreciate my dad teaching me how to use all the tools when I was younger though. Okay, I have the back and front done and put a 28mm hole in the front. I may change that to 32mm, but I will need to buy the 32mm flat drill bit. The length of the wood needed for the front and back is 35cm and then the apex needs to be cut, chopping 45 degree angle on each corner. If you use a quick square, it is dead easy. I have cut the 26cm ramp wall. This is 26cm x 11cm with a mitre cut. I cut the 11cm x 11cm floor using this mitre cut too. I have cut the 15cm x 11cm right hand wall and finished it there as I was getting cold. Here are a few photos...... EDIT 1st April - Picture below is of the measurements, disclaimer that they are only rough measurements, depending on the thickness of the wood used.
Adjusting as building it is needed. Please see picture below.
