I wasn't going to report on this one yet as it all happened so suddenly at the beginning of the week but I checked on the nest today and we have an egg! It's located in a berberis only about 3 foot off the ground in a homemade box that I created around 4 years ago, the first year it was up I was lucky enough to have the robins stay to rear their brood twice in succession just reusing the old nest, it was located in a maple tree about 4 foot up then. I have taken a photo but the egg is not visible as my phone is big and bulky and the box isn't very high so I was worried about damaging anything but will try to get one at some point! Fingers crossed all goes well with this one as the magpies are still about
