Still haven’t put my new (2nd) box up! Going to do it this weekend and hope for the best.
Your observations seem to match what I’ve seen so far - although my lone (male?) GT rooster does seem v. protective of the existing box and keeps popping back during the day a couple of times as if to keep an eye on it. It’d be just my luck if he’s just guarding his bed and nothing more!
