Hi all,
Thanks...yes, what a mess eh!!! ha,ha!!!
Yorkshirelass, you are absolutely correct. We could have cancelled everything when we heard the bad news and just pulled out on both sales and that would be that. But we continued on with the contracts on the sale of our own home as we did not want to lose our buyers and end up ruining their hopes & dreams too - a young couple with a baby on the way we were told. Yikes!!! We simply couldn't do that to them.
We thought long and hard on it, and after going through the trouble of putting our house up for sale, and going through the whole process, we knew we still wanted to move regardless....we knew we might end up temporarily without a home ourselves, but we know we'll be at an advantage of being able to move quickly when the time comes....at least on the next house we'll be ready.
Our only difficulty at the minute is that there doesn't seem to be anything available for rent? Ah, it'll all work out I'm sure.
We are currently looking at another house at the moment. Not the same character at all as the other house by any means nor does it have the 3 acres of land - nothing will match that lovely house
(but it was too good to be true, eh!!!)
This house we are looking at is very different again...much more modern, but we like it, as nothing needs to be done at all inside which is a real bonus....and it has a few features that the other house didn't have. It is still out in the countryside, right across the road from a forest, so lots of wildlife to see, and has just enough room in the back garden to have a glasshouse, some raised beds for veg and a few hens and maybe some bees even? We can plant some fruit trees out front and do more raised beds. So we might still be able to swing the self sufficiency bit on a smaller scale. It will certainly be a lot more manageable size wise. So we'll see what happens.
Anyway folks, its a beautiful, bright sunny morning here - normally I'd be pinned to the monitor watching out for the birdies.... so I'm sure you are all doing the same. You'll all start seeing some activity in your boxes this week....I remember its always around St Patricks weekend when things start to really take off.... best of luck everything.
