 Paul - thanks for the updates on all your nests & super photos.  My magpies are also on the prowl so I chase them off whenever I can, but I'm not always around of course. The thing which amuses me for the last week is the stand off between a stroppy blackbird who think he owns the fat balls! He sits on top of the crook holding them & made a mistake of attacking a pigeon below on the grass - viciously pecking him. The latter saw him off by just flapping his wings for 3 days but then got fed up, so he attacked back! Now the pigeon sits on the crook first & when the blackbird tries to attack him, he is given short shrift & flies off in a sulk.
