Some progress with the nest today 
strangely this morning I heard what sounded like young starlings calling from the nest box at the front of the house!? I'm thinking it's still a bit early for this? my other thought was that the adults were fighting in the box, definitely something going on but I couldn't hang around as was on the way to work
