Don't worry Matt. I have to study that dark patch constantly. Once I thought there was a rooster. I think it's just markings in the wood or a damp patch? The whole box looks messy as we had a few snails in over winter. It was due to have a spring clean but the birds got in there first  It is a box without an extra light too  I'm hoping today sees some nesting stuff.
