Yes Matt that is correct, Its always been 1 male with different females! The most blue tit nests I have had in the garden was 2016, 3 females 1 male and two of them nested on the same wall only 10 / 12 feet apart without any fighting at all. I remember that year well because I had my sparrows and 2 blue tits all on the same house wall literally feet away from eachother and none of them bothered eachother! I think having more boxes only works if your male gets more than 1 female, At the moment mines got 2 that I know of so i'll see how this year plans out.
