The male normally brings some material in as his way of attracting a female Sammi, If a female doesn't take to the box he will move on and find another nest site.
Thats what happens here over the years anyway, Fingers crossed he gets a female in and she approves!
When you see the female bird bringing in material you know its been picked, Sadly my sparrows aren't around this year after 5 years which is sad, I think something must of happened to them over autumn and winter.
