Sounds like good setup Pete, i got the same LED light as you and have the same problem sometimes on dark dingy days but it does'nt seem to bother the birds.
The weather proofing is a bit knife and fork but it seems to have worked, i purchased some small tupperware containers cut a hole out for the lens to poke through
then screwed the camera and container with the same screw to a 3 wide by about 10 inch long peice of wood which in turn was screwed to the nest box roof.
Also a bit of tape sealing the tupperware lid just to make sure, not pretty but seems to do the job.
Still early days yet you might get more visits when the warmer weather arrives.
