I have seen these boxes before Karen, I think its a good idea my only negative would be if birds like Sparrows / flycatchers can use the box it wouldn't give much safety for a blue tit. Sparrows are horrible when overtaking a nest box, I have seen my chicks get beating in the sparrow box and last year even killed and removed. So if you have sparrows in the garden it would be risky I think. Thanks Paul, I wondered if that would be a risk, we do have sparrows i remember the event you mentioned well, heart breaking. |
