My rooster is a male I think as he doesn't clean up after himself, he has been known to spend the odd night away, but hasn't done lately, I think it is down to where they are when the sun goes down, if there territory is large he may just find a place close to him. I too looking forward to spring coming,hope next year is a more happy one. HAPPY XMAS TO YOU
