Thanks yorksherlass, I came home from work lastnight at 10pm and there was a hog in the front garden, 
I didnt notice him at first until he scurried over the lawn, I came back out with some fresh spikes semi moist and scattered them on the lawn for him, then sat waited inside, he came out from his hiding place and spent some time having a good fill. He would be one of this years young from the first litters I think as he wasnt small but not big. It was wonderful to see a hog in the garden after so long
