I've been reading up about hibernating Paul and I've just been reading that very same thing 
The feeding station is totally separate now and has been since the first couple of nights. I moved the feeding station away from the house too as I read they don't like the food too close?
I think I'll take out the bird box camera and pack it like you suggest as the camera will be pretty useless when it's full of hay. I have today put a load of hay packed into a plant pot right next to the house to give him the hint.
Last night the trail cam picked up another non striped one feeding while the other napped. I was thinking for a while that the napper had scared any others off
