After all these years I've finally found a nest that the dunnocks have used thus year. I thought last week that they had fledged as it had gone very quiet so I stealthily crept to the tiny conifer they had chosen. I just had to gently ease the branches apart and there it was complete with gaping chicks so I gently made a swift exit.. I've been listening ever since to make sure they had fledged before I dared look again and this is what I found. So either they have started again or this one never hatched.
