Benn private messaged on twitter this morning after the springwatch footage,
I have had a little convo with him and he said he WILL rejoin next year, I also told him to read this thread because you've all posted!
Hes had abit of sad news with his BT's he had 8 healthy chicks, however he ran out of mealworms over bank holiday and he thinks due to the small amount food they was bringing in they wasn't getting enough moist from it and his box is in full sun between 9am - 12pm so he thinks overheating plus the lack of moist they was getting from food didn't keep them hydrated.
Hes lost 7 chicks and down to just 1 now its 15 days old, He got a mealworm delivery today and adults are using them to feed the chick so he's thinks the remaining one will be okay.
Just a little update from his boxes, Look forward to having him back with us next year.
