Hi Helen, Kathy, Brian, Taz and Ann, thank you all for hoping I have a nest next year but guess time to admit that this year was probably my last chance - hence hubby got more sympathetic to me having two camera boxes up. We have been talking for a while about retiring into a flat because our bungalow and garden with so many hedges etc is a lot of upkeep and hubby so fussy with it all. Takes up so much of our time and he wants to do a good bit of travelling before we are incapable. We agreed that we would not put the place on the market until after nesting season, and when I had so much interest early on I was hopeful this was to be ‘my year’, but didn’t turn out that way
Then lockdown came and my heart gave a little flutter that ‘maybe’ we would have to stay put a while longer and who knows- maybe next year........... But, now estate agent are up and running again it looks likely we will be putting the place on the market - appointment already been booked by himself so here goes. In the event we do manage to sell and find the right flat it is quite unlikely to have the correct space for a bird box (or two), but I will be trying obviously. Year after year I have hoped and hoped but just wasn’t to be. Have so enjoyed (and still will do) everyone else's boxes, but thought I had now better admit why this year was so important to me and all these lovely wishes for ‘next year’ probably are not going to happen. Truth is, my dear hubby has tried to be patient re the birds when he really isn’t interested himself and his obsession with everything in its place has been tried to its limits with my little ‘hobby’. Now just have to hope we can’t sell
