That expression is used down here in the East Mids certainly in my home village. Was it a privet hedge Chico went through or Hawthorn? most likely Hawthorn as that is spikey and reflects Chico's coiffure very well!With regards to mealies I was at Pets at Home too last weekend they had one tub left which I bought to tide me over till my delivery turned up from Live foods direct. It's amazing how much the birdies can get through but it does make a big difference to their survival.
