I was being very smug thinking that my now 9month old cat couldn’t climb the bird feeder, none of my other cats or visiting cats ever attempted to climb it, but Púca is the most intelligent and fearless cat I’ve ever come across, while I thought she was failing, she was just practising Caught her up level with the ‘Scott feeder’ ran out to shoo her away, and there was a GT terrified to move inside it even when I was only about an inch away from it. Needless to say Púca was put in the naughty corner straight away (locked inside). So for the moment until I get a better idea, I’ve just loosely wound chicken wire round it, so if she goes to climb it, it should collapse down. The picture shows the feeder with all sorts of tape just above container, it stops the sparrows putting their beaks in and grabbing all the worms, only the Tits can get at it now, it actually works. You can just see Púca bottomleft of the photograph, sulking away, she’s very black so hard to make out against the dark background.
