Bigg Boxes 2020

Update on the tragedy in the Bigg boxes.  I have heard from Malcolm that Drake (the male in box 2), stopped visiting/feeding abruptly at 20:10 Tuesday evening, and though Daisy tried to keep up with feeds the chicks got hungrier and by last night only 6 were still alive.  When Malcolm switched on this morning the remaining six had obviously died during the night and some removed by Daisy and Malcolm saw Daisy remove the last two chick bodies this morning. Malcolm believes that Drake must have been predated as he had been a very attentive partner up to that point.  So very sad .  I had been following these every day but because the little bodies are entangled at this stage, I hadn’t noticed anything wrong.  Didn’t realise it was just poor Daisy struggling to keep them both warm  and fed
