I’m afraid I haven’t been keeping up to date with everyone’s posts lately but on catching up today I see we are having the usual dramas 😩 . After three bad years I’m trying to be a bit more detached to all the horrible things that are nature that we can do nothing about.
Will just give update on our nest.
Our pair had 10 eggs . All hatched and are nearly a week old . I started using the caged feeder back in the winter with nuts and sunflower hearts in it. When nest building
began I put in mealworms and they took to them straight away and have been using them to feed chicks .
How things will go on with so many in the nest remains to be seen. She can hardly cover them at night and they have a lot more growing to do.
Here’s hoping this lovely weather continues and everyone has a good season.
