I put the feeder as close to the nest as possible Karen, If your using the "scott feeder" with a 25mm plate starlings shouldn't be able to get into it, Just use a deep dish for the worms and half fill it. I normally put some cable ties around the back of the feeder just above the dish so nothing at all can get there heads or beaks in.
My scott feeder at moment is around 1m away from Dolly's box and next week i'll hang another one around 1m away from Ditzy next on the garden light next to the box. Normally if blue tit sees something close to its box it will check it out, Always worked for me anyway.
