I am losing a battle at the moment against the starlings with the meal worms, soon frustrating!! Molly and Ron just haven't caught on but starlings spot them a mile away. Any tips to get the BTS to notice them. I have the scott feeder up I have also put a dish in a bush they go in to look for bugs, I also have the wire dome that chico used but to no avail as yet. I am about pulling my hair out. I had exactly the same problem when I had my nest, Karen. I couldn't get the bluetits interested, and when the starlings saw them they descended en mass and ate them within about 30 seconds. I ended up putting some through the hole of the nest box, do you remember? She did eat them when I did that, but never found them otherwise, not that I would recommend it really although it was desperate times as the male had gone AWOL and chicks were dying one by one.. I guess you really need a completely starling-proof meal worm feeder but that won't solve the problem of the tits finding them.
