On the bird subject, Did you notice any difference in the numbers of BT's in the run up to spring?
It is strange you haven't got a nest giving you've had one every year for 8 plus years!
Do you think it could be because of more people putting up boxes? I had a phone call with Gardenature the other day and owner was saying they are getting more orders now than christmas , mothers / fathers day.
I think with more people being at home they are spending more time in the garden or watching the wildlife.
