Hi all I hope you are all having good activity in your bird boxes. I am finding that if the weather is miserable, the birds are less active, is that the same for your birds? I put the box I built up yesterday morning, to my amazement, there had been a blue tit in this morning! I suspect it is one from my other box though. Here are some pics of it. I think Ihave got the hang of posting photos on here now Happy nesting

Wow - great job on the box Amanda! Yes definitely, bad weather = no activity at all for me, usually - either wind or rain, or both.

Wow Amanda - great photos of everything you've done! How did you manage to get the boxes up so high, did you stand on a very tall step ladder or an ordinary ladder? Just for curiousity, what sort of tree is the one in your garden please?

Brilliant Amanda, Nice work on the homemade box! And a visit within 24 hours can't ask for a better result can you? Good luck with both your boxes, Rain and cold weather does result in no viewings so don't worry, Happening for all of us.

Wow Amanda - great photos of everything you've done! How did you manage to get the boxes up so high, did you stand on a very tall step ladder or an ordinary ladder? Just for curiousity, what sort of tree is the one in your garden please? I used a ladder that doubles in size, I have no idea what it is called. I put my wooden garden table at the foot of it to stop it slipping. The tree is a Beech, it had a box there for many years, it fell down a couple of years ago and I didn’t replace it last year, so it is nice to have one back, with the added bonus of a camera in it

Great photos Amanda and such a great box......where did you source all the materials etc..... Getting a quick visit must have been a great feeling too I got the wood from a local timber yard next to screwfix which was handy! The hole protector, camera clip and Perspex windows I got from Garden Nature, where I bought my first box from: Garden Nature accessories link

I’ve had a double visit and wriggles in my new box this morning. Nothing in the other box, so I think they may have moved house or it is a different pair.......exciting times!

I’m very excited this morning The bird box on my tree has some nesting material in it I have also also had visits in my other box this morning and a pair of great tits near the same one. The rain stopped about 9am this morning and all the birds appear to be busy, I hope your gardens / bird boxes are getting busy too 😀
