Thanks Sammi, Karen and Starling, so happy but would so like everyone to get a nest this year. You may be right about the birds following us Sammi, so strange that the place I least expected is proving fruitful. I also feel the birds like the box cause it’s got three holes, and before we moved we had the concrete (lucky) box with three holes that was always used. Whatever it is I am just really pleased. Such an honour to witness. Sue

Had to get up bright and early this morning as hubby had to run a neighbour to the airport , so thought I’d put bird box camera on and have a peek - well that was at 5:00 and little sweetie was still asleep. At about 6:00 she did a few shuffle and then what look like a bit of straining and quicker breathing but then went back to sleep. However my patience has paid off as when she decided to finally move off the nest this is what I saw . Sorry about the image but snapped quickly on my phone in case she came back and covered them. So chuffed. Sue That straining and weird breathing is what I saw mine doing this morning around 6am. Not managed to capture it before, or at least it might be because the past two years for mine has all been in the tree box, where the camera looks directly down onto the nest from overhead.... the side view I've got this year shows me a new perspective! It's fascinating to see it all. Good luck with the forthcoming clutch!

Thanks everyone, she is keeping the nest cup well covered now so wouldn’t have a clue about eggs if hadn’t been up early that day - so clever these birds. Sue

Thanks Karen, yes wonder what the total will be - just hope not too many to manage as looks as though we will be away for a few days of the chicks growing (not my choice obviously) so won’t be able to help out with food 😖. A little treat or a little kiss . Sue ps pictures wrong way round ha ha.

Thanks Pete, I just let the natural daylight work for me. Put the lamp on last year but wondered if I was disturbing them as don’t have the camera on constantly - hence lot of my captures go to black and white. Good enough for me though. Sue

I believe there may now be nine eggs in the box and the female has spent time sitting on the eggs periodically today so maybe full on incubation is imminent. Sue

I’m so pleased for you Sue thank you for sharing pictures I’m getting my fix from everyone nest lovely to see all progress 😊 You will have to come and move into ours for a few days Ann. We have the nest and I am not going to be able to watch some of their growing as himself has decided to book time away , which coincides with the chicks hatching I think - to say I am unhappy is an understatement. He thought I’d like it . Pack your bags and come and look after mine Ann ☹️. Sue

He just said “But you’ve seen it all before”. Am gutted, but he is good in so many other ways, that I’ll have to forgive him. Sue

Sorry for the quality of the image. Looks though we might have 10 eggs now . She is quietly sitting on the eggs now but not sure it’s full on incubation yet as she doesn’t sit for long before she’s off out again. Time will tell. Sue

Hurrah for the eggs. Several people on here seem to have 10 like yours. Can't see mine much due to camera angle. Hoping it's more than the three or four I can see! Keep the pics coming 👍
