Let me start by saying a huge thank you to Matt and Paul for this amazing forum Unusual for me to be posting this early in the year but wanted to add my thanks and to show my presence. Amazing to see so many members already on here and having promising interest. My boxes are normally quiet at this time of year - no roosters, and very little birdie activity in my garden until much later, but yesterday I had probably the busiest day since I have been watching these amazing birds. I seemed to have visits pretty much all day - EVEN IN MY CAMERA BOX !!!!! Yes honestly. My video must have turned on at least 20 times and I had 8 videos showing both male and female in the box (albeit short lived for the male). It got to the stage that one female remained in the box for over 10 minutes, very relaxed, and after a good look around, pecking the sides etc, settled down to have a good preening session and did not seem in the least hurried to leave. Much to the annoyance of my husband who was waiting to clean the windows and had been banned from showing his presence outside until birds disappeared . I have to say this is just a delight for me. Probably won’t lead to anything but was a really enjoyable day. Even better, had several visits also this morning until the rain came. Good luck to EVERYONE for the coming season, let’s hope we all have lots of eggs and little chicks to add to the bird population. I for one cannot wait. Speak soon. Sue

Wow Sue, that's wonderful news, so fingers crossed for you as well, seeing as quite a few of members are now seeing a lot of activity.
Springtime - you are still luckier than I am, as I haven't seen anyone showing any interest in our one & only box, so very envious of you! Diane

Ooh that is promising daily visits! I really hope it leads to a nest in the camera box, 2019 needs to be your year for a camera box nest.

You’ve done it Sue we aren’t as daft as we think we are . I actually am more excited for you to get a nest you can actually see, more than I am for myself getting a nest!!! You so deserve it for all your patience and support you’ve given to others on the bbf over the years My fingers are well and truly crossed for you. heart Elle xx

Hi Paul, not really. Have had the odd fleeting visit but not much else. A pair of blue tits are sitting a lot in the only tree in my garden but they don’t seem to do much else , maybe they are just watching the goings on to see if it’s the right garden for them . I am kidding myself I know but got to have some hope Sue

Sue the picture of two in the box is definitely a good sign if the male can get the female in it's an achievement. Okay I know we have a while to go yet and nothing is finalised until it is but it's looking more positive for you I think with the camera box! I'm sure there will be one mad rush for sites in a week or two, foliage here is still in tight bud so no food if they start too early.

In we go . So so sorry about awful photos but through window and between a tiny slit in my vertical blinds. And - yes - once again it’s my ‘lucky box’ and NOT the camera box . However, I am happy something is happening. Will try to get better shots, but so excited had to post straight away. How do I get all the photos in one post please? Not mastered this yet Oh well. Sue
