A couple of photos I managed to take during times when the camera worked in colour. It tends to be a little temperamental. The he latest one shows the 4 survivors. The earlier one I thought May looked like a sort of super hero...which she is as she's doing a great job.

Thanks Sue. The camera seems to be holding on in there. Thursday is day 19 and we have our granddaughter for the day so it will be interesting if they go that day. Two look ready but two are still quite small Baby great tits in the garden this morning by the feeders with parent bird. I managed to get a couple of pics but takes ages to get them on the forum with our archaic equipment

Good Luck for Thursday then Sammi and who knows what we'll get for next year - GTs are in your area so as long as the box entrance hole is GT size it could be B or G.

Lovely photos Sammi & I see what you mean about May looking like a super hero, flying in at Superman speed! Anyway, well done to her & she is doing a fantastic job of rearing her 4 chicks, that your camera behaves itself on fledge day for possibly two of them at least on Thursday - it would be lovely if your grandaughter could see it too.

Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes. There were still 4 chicks when I saw briefly this morning but one is very small. Sadly my PC decided that it had had enough this morning and I thought oh well I'll just view on my little tv and do without the monitoring. So I set it all up and had a picture for a minute but no sound. I tried another connecting route via a scart and still no joy...not even a picture. I put it back just with the AV connectors and nothing. I think there is a lose connection within the cables and connectors which I caused to fail while I messed about ...so now I'll just have to hope I see them fledge! Steve I love you little emoji by the way.

Oh heck Sammi, of all the times for that to happen! Are you going to try again before Thursday as Chris has suggested or giving it up as a bad job because you've had enough of messing about with it?

Thanks folks....I have decided to just hope I see them fledging. The computer after much cajoling and tinkering is up and running again but the cabling is still useless so I toyed with the idea of sneaking up and changing just the video feed on the box. It is so close to fledging though I don't want to risk spooking them. The cable is attached underneath the box so I wouldn't need to open the box but still I don't want to risk it. So who knows if my small chick will make it? I'll just have to hope they wait till Friday or later to fledge when I'll be able to spend time watching. I am pretty fed up about it but May is still feeding them loads of mealworms so I know that some are still doing well.

Sammi I am not going to be around when your chicks fledge so I am wishing them a successful fledging now for when they do go. I see you have been having a right old stramash with your gear so I hope for your sake it holds out until after the great exodus!!. Good luck to those beautiful chicklets. Wishing you a great summer in lovely Cornwall and thank you for your concerns for my health this year. Trust all will stay well with you too. Kathy xx

Oh Sammi, I had to laugh at your last message about doing things wrong - 'cos I have done daft things like that as well! However, take comfort in the fact that my daughter who is only 50 also does daft things, she blames hers on the 'change of life' though, her excuse & she's sticking to it. Anyway, thanks for the good news about the 4 chicks & I hope you do manage to see them fledge. I was hoping it would be today when your grandaughter was with you, so that's a shame - the weather is going to be terrible starting tomorrow, so I must get some gardening done today.

Well folks I'm not sure what happened today. Granddaughter took up most of ou attention as only a 2 and a half year old can ..the camera and PC behaved themselves although the camera is still mostly black and white. It looked like they were fledging and I thought three had gone while we were out at the swings. Only one chick was visible in the nest..but the I realised there was another hidden under the nest which has a sort of cave design now. We left the camera etc on and spent the rest of the day out and about and I fully expected the nest to be empty by the time we came home. But there are three chicks in the box I will have to study the recordings tomorrow. The forecast is not good though.

Just for the record ..three chicks still hunkered down with the weather outside looking very uninviting I hope May has seen the weather forecast as tomorrow is a much better day. New batch of mealworms arrived yesterday so they won't run short on food.

Thanks for your news Sammi & nice to know the camera is still holding on for you. One chick gone then, but the other three still tucked up tight thank goodness. An awful day here too & tomorrow is worse for us - Sunday the best day. Cornwall is different then for tomorrow, so hope all goes well if they fledge then.

Lovely pics Sammi. Hopefully it will be a better day tomorrow for the final three . Sun and showers forecast I think. Hope the little one that went yesterday has kept dry and warm. It’s been bucketing down here and windy and I think from spotlight you’ve had worse . Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
