They obviously have learned over the years that there is never a food shortage at yours. Wonderful number. I think 9 is the most ours have laid over the years.

Looks like my little mate is feeding his brood (Robin I hand feed) Two videos below, One he is taking the mealworms away and second he is just sitting on my hand eating for himself. He came to my hand about 10 times taking away 4 or 5 mealworms at a time before he fed himself Videos and pictures below taking away the mealworms for chicks

That's one thing that would make me really happy - to have a robin's nest in the garden. I often get one feeding from the open tobacco tin nailed to the top of a fence post, where I empty the feed tray from the tit feeder, but he always seems to fly away over the fence at the side of my garden with a beak full of worms.

Blackbird nest is going well (shocked gets raided by magpies every year) sadly, The magpies got to the Dove nest. Mrs B got 5 chicks though and they are growing fast!

Lovely, hope they grow quick and make it out, I had a pleasant surprise the other day my local pair of blackbirds were in my garden with two well grown fledglings, very happy to see that, the magpie doesn't find them all it seems! sorry to hear about the collared doves though.

Lovely pics of the blackbird nest - not sure how you manage to get them! The blackbird chicks look really quite similar to robin chicks at that stage. Really amazing to see the open nest at that angle. Fabulous!

Fantastic to see the progress of the Blackbird Paul, great pictures. Fingers crossed they continue to evade the horrible Magpies. Sad to read that the Doves were predated. I was sat on our decking in the late afternoon sunshine yesterday and across the back field I could hear Blackbird alarm calls over and over again and sure enough there was a bloody Magpie exiting some bushes with something in its beak. This continued so I guess it had found the Blackbird nest in there and was returning to take all the eggs/chicks.

Good stuff Paul - things are finally beginning to move - hope the stormy weather doesn't affect young ones too much - availability of food will be the big question where there are large clutches and I think that's more than usual this year!
Anyway good luck to you all. I don't think feeding mine will be much of a problem, unless it's still stormy when they fledge in about a week.

Amazing footage from that camera Paul! Loving the detail. And good to hear you're seeing the same caterpillar abundance as I've seen round here. My lot are still 10 in number, no fatalities, which I'm crossing fingers stays that way, and I put it all down to the plentiful caterpillar supply, plus maybe the cooler weather this year.
Keep posting updates!
