9 chicks still going strong here on day 5, just had a heavy downpour so not much feeding going on, I have mini mealworms and waxworms in a feeder but the parents have so far not taken any, the starlings however! I had made it so that it was starling proof or so I thought! but never mind they have mouths to feed too had a great tit visitor to my blue tit box yesterday much to the annoyance of mum blue tit at the time, luckily the hole size is too small for the great tit to enter. I also have a freshly built robin nest but it's a bit early to start reporting on that one so we shall wait and see but it's exciting stuff! drive.google.com/file/d/1v-OSofvoavmBSj3vw23jMP_U6ed511mb/view?usp=sharing

I've had a GT land on the entrance of my box a couple of times in the last few days and mummy BT goes into full-on defence mode - thankfully it works without too much effort!
Lovely to hear about your robin nest! Keep us posted!

As of this morning it looks like we have 8 chicks of the original 9 still with us but one is very small so we may be down to 7 soon, both parents still working incredibly hard, the largest chick is doing some wing flapping as I type!

Lovely to see them doing so well! How many days old are they now? I'm curious as they look more feathery than my last three survivors - I'm getting doubtful about how they're developing so would be good to compare.

Thanks pete, they are 11 days old now so should be another 10 days or so before they fledge.

Having checked today's footage more closely, I think mine look quite similar to yours, so I'm quite heartened by that! I'll be posting some pics/clips in my thread in a while, so feel free to compare and let me know what you think.

I have an empty nest box this morning strange thing was I checked the camera last night and there was two in there unless one came back or it was just at the nest hole so I didn't see it it is eerily quiet here now haven't seen or heard any blue tits this morning, I'm thinking the parents have taken them further afield as the pesky magpie is still about fingers crossed I see them in the coming days when they have more strength.

mine’s empty too this evening! Not sure what I’ll do with my time now, with no video footage to review!
