Aw, what a lovely photo. See, he was just waiting for the right time to be chivalrous. Doing the job when needed. Good lad. Sue

Just had a look at your live stream Matt and she looks as though she is incubating, is that 9 eggs for her?

Yep! She's been sitting since about 9.00 this morning, so maybe this is it or *maybe* one more tomorrow? I have just been reading a few other threads and it is amazing how many of us are in sync this year - I think you are on 9 today as well? Also Benn, Sammi and Andy. It is going to be a chick fest in a couple of weeks!

Amazingly I have just checked on the triggers and Judith has been sitting since 9.15am! She has 8 eggs so far, perhaps one more tomorrow. I heard they often lay one more the next morning.

I think that is pretty common Karen. I just can't decide whether yesterday counts as the first day of incubation - she did sit for more than she has done before, but she wasn't in that early and didn't stay all day. It does look like she is properly at it today, so I think just maybe one more egg tomorrow, or she settles with 9. Happy either way of course!

I was wondering the same, I know they sit for 15 days, but wasn't sure where to start counting from tomorrow or today?

I'm going to start from today I think Karen. Here's a better shot of the 9, and a pic of her fluffed up and sitting. Tony has been in a fair few times (about 5 that I have seen), so is still on the scene.

Great pics Matt. Good to know everyone's roughly at the same stage, although I think mine might be about 6 days into it now. Hoping they haven't jumped the gun!

Looks like she has stuck with 9, unless there is another egg tucked away somewhere that I couldn't see (I don't think so). So I am going to start counting incubation from yesterday, and today she has been sitting all morning.

Judith has stuck with 8, no egg this morning, she has been sitting all morning form around 8am.

Thanks Paul. This is in the 3 hole concrete box, so I am really hoping I can get some nice pics of chicks poking out of all three holes at once when the time comes!

Just had a look at my other box cameras, which I do every morning, and seen this: This is the "robin" box on the other side of the shed than the bluetit box. As far as I know, a robin had never even found it all season - I'd given up on it (a few wren and bluetit visits). Amazing! She's busy this morning, fingers crossed this one keeps going!!!

Here's a higher res pic. She's certainly making rapid "progress" if you can call it that - a very messy nest compared to a bluetit for example!
