Good for you Pete - pleased you've finally got something positive.
'While there's life there's hope'.
Last year I had a GT build late in my CherryTree box and laid the first of eight eggs on 24th May. Seven eggs hatched and 7 chicks fledged - so it really can happen!
Best of Luck.

Lovely video Pete, and four is a great number for a late nest, should be a very good number to deal with. So pleased. Sue

I think the small clutch probably suggests nest failure elsewhere and she's giving it a last shot before the season is over. I am very pleased for you, And 4 should be a great number for her to manage.

Another egg laid this morning, has anyone had a bird start incubating before the whole clutch has been laid, Only my bird started incubating as soon as the fourth egg was laid there is now six ?

I can't think of an occasion when a female has laid 2 eggs after she has apparently started incubating Pete - 1 egg possibly. Of course she may not have been fully incubating - she could be sitting on the eggs without fully exposing her 'incubating area' to the eggs, thereby not transferring her full body heat to the eggs.

Another egg laid this morning, has anyone had a bird start incubating before the whole clutch has been laid, Only my bird started incubating as soon as the fourth egg was laid there is now six ? Maybe because it’s late in the season Pete she has laid ‘Ready prepared eggs’ and they only need to be incubated for a few days .....

Hi everyone, no idea why the eggs were out of the cup early this morning there was no sign of the nest been disturbed. as you can see in the vid she rolled them back later. Vid 3 second egg hatching, decided to turn the lights on this afternoon i will decide weather i'll keep on tonight as i think they might be turning off later than i would like them to. I'll keep the updates coming as as i can, been rather busy lately.
