Only a few seconds of film but watch for eyes appearing in top left of screen! Perhaps this is the answer to all our Cat problems feed Foxes!! Film not edited so no need to watch till the end after chase completed.

Wish it was longer but better than nothing, it's the look on the Foxes' face that made me smile at least he gave the Cat a fright. Last night the Badger, Hedgehog and Fox came to visit but Hedges didn't eat his food in his little hog house with the smaller entrance hole which Kathy had provided oh no he preferred to scavenge for tit bits in the garden with the others, typical when I thought I'd cracked it, this was my Plan C. you just couldn't make it up!

Oh Kathy, That made me laugh!! Hopefully your hog starts using your food soon! We had a cat visit lastnight, I have never seen a cat so big in my life. It towered over my hedgehog houses which are a pretty big size! I think chasing would be the other way around if we had fox here Never seen this cat in the garden before, looking like that though I am sure its a well fed cat.

Harmony in the garden - well almost! Hedges is keeping a low profile but being ignored most of the time. The Badger and Fox had a slight tiff after this footage but all was well I think!

Paul, it does look though that there is some tension. Fox taking a defensive stance with ears back like a dog does, and Hedges looks as if he has partially curled up but it's difficult to see even if you view it in full screen. Don't think he was harmed at all as we see him walk away after the small spat between F&B which is not shown here. And yes,I am very pleased with the trail cam purchase except night vision drains the batteries!

What amazing footage Kathy, to get them all together. So hope you don’t get to see any tragedies. Poor badger certainly not happy with its front paw. Isn’t it fascinating to see what goes on in our gardens that we would normally be unaware of. Sue

Kathy, that is amazing footage.
Also worthy of Springwatch in my opinion.
Amazing to see all three together!!!! I think that's very unique?? Rare even???
My I ask what settings you have your camera set to...
I'm still obviously not getting my camera settings right as its only taking footage of about a 3ft radius in front of it???

Great video Kathy! I hope there are no tragedies in the future as well, but of course fights do happen, so it doesn't happen in your garden.

GBH Thanks for your comment. Camera is Apeman brand but I don't do anything special for a wider view just don't point the camera downwards. If I want to focus on a box I do but for a more distant view I sight the camera more vertical, my settings are mainly for whether I want photo or video. I think Karen has an Apeman perhaps she could help better than me?
Diane- Thanks also for your comment, yes I hope so too. I was surprised though to see Foxy was aggressive to the Badger which was I think a little foolhardy considering the strength of her jaws but no harm done!

Thought you'd like this video Kathy, I'd been doing some research into foxes alot lately because we have them right at back mine on the waste land, Obvious we have fencing so they can't get into the garden, I was thinking about putting some food out for them though. Maybe put my wildlife out over on the waste land, Hopefully doesn't get robbed be interesting to know what brand food you are feeding. Anyway here the video that made me think of you

Hi Paul, Lovely film of them together didn't expect to be the first to film this trio in action though, nice to see them in colour. Look at the hedgehog so cute you cannot help but love 'em. I have a book on the Fox and in it the author states that many many years ago the Fox was a daytime hunter. When we started to persecute them ie Fox hunting etc they gradually evolved to hunt at night time when there was less of a threat. Seeing a Fox in daytime is not unusual it is most likely not ill. Also the book says we know the nature of the fox is that it kills all the hens in the hen house and only takes one away to eat. This is to us abhorrent and appears cruel but this behaviour equals us in some ways when we go to the supermarket and buy more than we need which goes to landfill cos it's passed its sell by date. Not much difference between us is there? I feed 'Wild Things' fox and badger food, you can get it on ebay.

Some lovely footage on youtube of them all getting on Kathy but that is by far the best one, So it shows it can be done I think its just getting a balance of feeding them all a good amount so they get along. Just don't search to deep into youtube, You will see hedgehogs getting ate by badgers aswell! I'll get a bag of it and see if the foxes on waste land at back mine like it, I know we have a good family of them atleast 8 - 10 so hopefully can get some nice footage without my camera getting nicked! Might just walk around and get the camera at like 4am to be on the safe side, I did read that foxes like the spikes hedgehog food though so might try that over the coming nights.

Fox's do enjoy spikes semi moist food. A few years ago part of a fence was broken in my garden, a fox got through and polished off the hogs food 😏

Hi Taz, I have some specially made Fox & Badger food which we scatter every night for them as they cannot get into the hoggie feeder where Spikes is. I now have 2 Foxes and 3 Badgers visiting. I can see they must be from the same sett as there is no fighting just role playing. But yes I can imagine Foxes will eat anything although they are not keen on fruit probably fallen apples are a wee bit sour

I love your footage of the fox badger and hedgehog together, brilliant to see them tolerating each other. Your garden is starting to look like Farthing wood!! Ask Paul for a badger and fox emoji!
