I must admit I quite like wood pigeons Kevin. We get lots too, sometimes 3 at once bathing in our wildlife pond, and I like how they are big, clumsy, gentle giants really. The farmers aren't so fond of them around here, though!

Lovely photos Kevin, but if that is sun shining through your fence today you're lucky. It's been drizzling all day here which is neither use nor ornament to my soil, wish I had clay as per our previous homes! I would have for heavy downpours with sun my second choice.
Wood pigeons - like you & Matt we have loads in the garden all at once, feeding from the scraps which have fallen from the seeds & fat balls, having drinks from the header which is OK as far as hubby is concerned, BUT - when they have a bath IN the pond, he goes berserk as the water goes white & cloudy. If I see them, I keep shstum & giggle to myself!

We have many pairs on our street. I might be wrong here, but I thought I'd read somewhere that they were now the most common bird in Britain.

Hi Diane and benn. I don’t mind them as I like the way their heads bob up and down. Diane the sun has been out but the breeze is cool. Benn it would be interesting to find out if it’s true or not about being the most common.

Kevin - May I ask a big favour? These two piccies you have put on this thread, would you put them in your Garden thread as well please. That way, I can ask you questions about stuff e.g. the little tree.
